Profhilo vs Profhilo Structura: What is the difference?

There’s no doubt that Profhilo has become one of the most loved injectable treatments in aesthetic medicine. Known for its ability to deeply hydrate, smooth and subtly firm the skin, it’s helped thousands of people feel more radiant and confident without looking like they’ve had ‘work’ done. But now there’s a new addition to the Profhilo family, Profhilo Structura, and naturally, many of my patients are asking: what’s the difference, and which one should I have?
The good news is that both Profhilo and Profhilo Structura are brilliant tools in the right hands, they just work a little differently and are suited to slightly different concerns. Let’s break it down.
What does Profhilo do?
Profhilo is best known as a skin booster, a pure hyaluronic acid injectable that spreads under the skin to stimulate hydration and improve elasticity. It doesn’t sit in one place or add volume. Instead, it flows through the tissue, triggering collagen and elastin production while deeply hydrating from within.
It’s ideal if your skin is starting to feel drier, crepey or just not as firm as it once was. The results are subtle but beautiful, a gentle tightening effect, improved texture, and a healthy, dewy glow. Most people have two sessions spaced a month apart, and the effects build over the weeks that follow.
What is Profhilo Structura and how is it different?
While original Profhilo is a hydration-first product, Profhilo Structura has been developed to go a step further. It’s still based on hyaluronic acid, but the formula is optimised for more structural support. That means it is injected slightly deeper in the face, where it can help restore the superficial fat pads in certain parts of the face, not in a volumising way like traditional fillers, but in a way that restores some of the facial fat which has been lost.
Structura is particularly good for the lower face – think soft jowls, jawline laxity, or sagging around the chin. It’s been designed for areas that need more than just a hydration boost, it’s for a face that is in the early stages of losing its framework.
In my experience, Structura is perfect for those in their late 30s, 40s or beyond, who are noticing deeper changes to their face. It gives a more defined, supported look while still keeping everything incredibly natural.
Can you combine the two?
Yes, and in many cases, that’s the most effective approach. I often start patients with original Profhilo to boost hydration and elasticity, and then introduce Profhilo Structura if we want to target specific areas that need more structure or lift. They complement each other beautifully, and allow for a more tailored treatment plan depending on your skin’s needs.
So, which one is right for you?
If your main concern is dullness, dryness or a lack of glow, original Profhilo may be the perfect starting point. If you’re beginning to see soft sagging, jowls or a loss of facial definition, Profhilo Structura may be the better fit, or we might use both in combination.
The best way to decide is always with a consultation. We’ll assess your skin, your concerns, and create a plan that’s focused on achieving natural, elegant results, the kind that make people say “you look great”, not “what have you had done?”
If you’d like to find out whether Profhilo or Profhilo Structura is right for you, I’d be delighted to see you in clinic.
